10 Pictures of the Meridian Temple You Haven’t Seen (probably)
(Feature photo can be found here: Meridian Temple – September Peace by Rory Wallwork)
The unique Meridian Idaho Temple stands atop a hill next to the Boise River. The temple’s design is a departure from the traditional towers and steeples of other LDS temples. The multi-level temple is topped with a beautiful gold dome-like structure supporting a gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni. A meetinghouse and utility building also share the temple’s property.
The free public open house is running right now for the rest of this week until Saturday, November 11. If you still want to go, you can get free reservations for tours at templeopenhouse.lds.org.
And in case you missed it, be sure to take a look at pictures of the inside of the Meridian Temple.
Before we share these beautiful photos with you, here are a few facts that you might not know about the Meridian Temple:
- It will be dedicated on November 19, 2017.
- It will be the fifth temple built in Idaho, following the Idaho Falls Temple, Boise Temple, Rexburg Temple, and Twin Falls Temple.
- After the angel Moroni statue on the Bountiful Temple was struck by lightning, the statue that was meant for the Meridian Temple was sent to Bountiful instead to replace the damaged statue.
