Extensive Renovations Planned for the Columbus Ohio Temple
Today it was announced that the Columbus Ohio Temple will close for extensive renovations beginning August 15, 2020. It will remain closed for over two years, until late 2022 when the renovations are complete. Unfortunately we don’t have any additional details at this time regarding exactly what the renovations will entail. But recent “extensive renovations” done with the Oklahoma City Temple, Raleigh Temple and Memphis Temple may give us an idea. Only time will tell though! We’ll post any additional information we receive about the renovations.
This could be a good time to begin the renovations, as the temple is currently closed due to COVID-19, and it’s unknown when it will reopen.
During the two-year renovation, Latter-day Saints in the area are encouraged to attend the Indianapolis or Detroit Temple.
Once the renovations are finished, a public open house and rededication will take place. Details about those items will be provided as the time gets closer.
