I’m sure many of you are as excited as we are for the open house and re-dedication of the Oakland Temple! Yesterday the First Presidency of The Church announced the dates for the public open house and re-dedication of the temple.
The open house will begin on Saturday, May 11, and go through Saturday, June 1, 2019, except for May 12, 19 and 26, 2019. If you’d like to tour the temple before it is re-dedicated, free reservations will be made available through templeopenhouse.lds.org in the coming weeks.
While the overall configuration inside the temple remains the same, after decades of service, the mechanical systems of the temple has been upgraded and its finishes and furnishings have been thoroughly refreshed.
Following the open house, and the cultural celebration on Saturday, June 15, the temple will be re-dedicated on Sunday, June 16, 2019.
Again, free tickets will be made available to the public a couple of weeks before the open house begins.
