More than five years have passed since the Ephraim Utah Temple was announced in May 2021 by the late President Nelson, and now the time has finally come to reveal to the public the incredible interior of the new temple and begin the public open house this week. Latter-day Saints in the Central Utah area will be welcoming all visitors to the temple starting on Wednesday, September 2. The public open house will run for two and a half weeks, until September 19, excluding Sundays. Specially-invited guests began their tours of the new temple today. Prior to the public open house in a couple of days, the Church has released a number of beautiful pictures of the finished interior of the temple, which you can see below.

The new temple features large arched windows throughout, an arched entryway, and a multilevel octagonal tower capped with a domed cupola – a design that forgoes the traditional gold-leafed angel Moroni statue in favor of two elegant end towers. The 39,000-square-foot temple stands in the quiet college town of Ephraim, very near the historic Manti Temple. The Ephraim Temple will be one of 32 temples in Utah. The Lindon Temple was the most recent Utah temple to be dedicated, which took place in May. The Heber Valley Temple, Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple, and Smithfield Temple are currently under construction. The Lehi Temple, Price Temple, Spanish Fork Temple, and West Jordan Temple have all been announced but are not yet under construction. And of course the Salt Lake Temple is preparing for the amazing public open house that will begin in April next year and continue for six months.

As was announced in April, once the open house is complete and the temple has been cleaned again and prepared, it will be dedicated on Sunday, October 11, 2026, and broadcast to all congregations in the new temple district. Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication and offer the dedicatory prayer. The dedication will take place at 10:00 a.m. and be rebroadcast at 2 p.m.

So as a reminder, the public open house for the Ephraim Temple will run from this Wednesday, September 2 through Saturday, September 19, 2026, except for Sundays. You do NOT need tickets or reservations to tour the temple. The hours are 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
