It was announced yesterday that the Queen Creek Arizona Temple will be built on a 15.5-acre site located at the southeast corner of Ryan Road and Euell Drive, between Meridian Road to the west and Ironwood Road to the east, in Queen Creek. The initial plans call for a temple of approximately 82,000 square feet, and most likely it will be multiple stories, although this has not been confirmed. An accompanying meetinghouse will also be built at the site. This new temple will be the fourth in the greater Phoenix area, and one of nine in Arizona that are in operation or announced. The two temples that have been announced are the Yuma Temple and the Flagstaff Temple. Right now in the state there are nearly 442,000 Latter-day Saints meeting in nearly 900 congregations.

As always, this is an early announcement, so the detailed design plans for the temple are still being developed. An exterior rendering has not yet been released, but hopefully it will be in the near future. A groundbreaking date has also not been set. That information will come at a late time. But the great news is that project leaders can now begin working with city officials to coordinate planning for the future temple.

The Queen Creek Temple was one of 17 temples announced nearly two  years ago during the October 2024 General Conference.
