Smithfield Temple, Elko Temple, and Casper Temple Locations Announced

Smithfield Temple, Elko Temple, and Casper Temple Locations Announced

In an another uncommon multi-temple announcement today, the locations of three future temples were revealed – the Smithfield Utah Temple, the Elka Nevada Temple, and the Casper Wyoming Temple. These temples will bring wonderful blessings to the Latter-day Saints in their respective areas!

The future location of the Smithfield Utah Temple.

Smithfield Utah Temple

The Smithfield Temple will be located on a 13.3-acre site at the intersection of 800 West and 100 North. Initial plans call for a three-story temple of roughly 81,000 square feet, making it among the larger temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The future location of the Elko Nevada Temple.

Elko Nevada Temple

The Elko Temple will be constructed on a 5.2-acre site next to the southeast corner of Ruby View Golf Course. It will be among the smaller temples of the Church, as initial plans call for a single-story structure of roughly 10,000 square feet.

The Elko Temple will be the third temple in the state of Nevada, following the Las Vegas Temple and the Reno Temple.

The future location of the Casper Wyoming Temple.

Casper Wyoming Temple

The Casper Temple will be built on a 9.5-acre site located at the intersection of southwest Wyoming Boulevard and Eagle Drive in Casper. Just like the Elko Temple, this too will be on the smaller side, as a single-story temple of approximately 10,000 square feet. Even though these temples are smaller than others, it doesn’t make them any less important!

The Casper Temple will be the second one in the state of Wyoming, following the Star Valley Temple in Afton.

Of course these are just early announcements, so more detailed design plans for all three of these temples are still being developed. Interior renderings, as well as more information, will be made public at a later time. Groundbreaking dates have not been set yet either. In the coming months, project leaders will begin working with city officials to make plans more official.
