Take a Look Inside the Newly-Renovated Idaho Falls Temple
(Feature photo can be found here – Idaho Falls Temple – Across the River by Kenny Latimer)
Just over two years ago, in March 2015, the Idaho Falls Temple closed for renovations. But now the time has come to finish the renovations and prepare for the public open house, which begins this coming Saturday, April 22. Prior to the open house, the Church has released some beautiful photos of the finished renovations inside the historic temple.
The LDS Church now has 156 operating temples in the world, and the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple was the 8th to be built. It was originally dedicated on September 23, 1945. It was the first temple in Idaho, and has since been followed by the Twin Falls Temple, Boise Temple, and Rexburg Temple. The fifth temple, the Meridian Temple, will be dedicated later this year on November 19. A sixth temple is already in the works, with the Pocatello Temple just announce earlier this month during General Conference.
The open house for the Idaho Falls Temple will run from Saturday, April 22, through Saturday, May 20, 2017, except for Sundays. Free reservations for tours can be made at templeopenhouse.lds.org.
The temple will then be formally re-dedicated on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Prior to the rededication of the temple, local youth will present a cultural celebration featuring music and dance on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
We also have many beautiful photos of the Idaho Falls Temple for those who attended the open house or were involved in the renovations, the cultural celebration, or the dedication.
