Tallahassee Temple Groundbreaking Date Announced
The groundbreaking date for the Tallahassee Florida Temple was announced today! The groundbreaking for will take place in June 2021, although a specific date has not yet been given. Because of current Covid-19 guidelines, attendance at the event will be by invitation only. Elder James B. Martino, North America Southeast Area President, will preside at the event.
The Tallahassee Temple was announced by President Nelson during the April 2020 General Conference. It will be built on a 4.97-acre site located at 2440 Papillon Way, in Tallahassee, Florida, and as you can see in the rendering above, it will be a single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet with a center spire.
Of course we will post more information as it becomes available regarding the open house and completion timeline. We’re excited for members in norther Florida to be able to watch the progress of their new temple over the next two or three years until it’s finished!
