The Orem Temple Is Dedicated

More than four years after it was announced in October 2019, and after more than three years of construction, the Orem Utah Temple was dedicated yesterday, January 21, 2024. The dedication was performed by Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The new temple is the 19th temple in Utah and the 188th in the world!

The dedication of the Orem Temple “marks a milestone in the progress of the kingdom of God on the Earth, and particularly in this vital part of His vineyard,” said Elder Christofferson.

Elder Christofferson said Latter-day Saints can find heavenly help and eternal perspective through their temple attendance.

“What had seemed overwhelming and impossible can, with the Lord’s help, find resolution, and we are more certain of His help,” he said. “…In short, with our time in the temple we have been refined, even if only in a small degree, and heaven is that much closer.”

There are currently 28 temples in Utah that have been dedicated, are under construction, or are being renovated. Elder Robert T. Smith, an Area Seventy, said that during a recent visit to the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple, he looked out from the building’s east side and saw several other temples. He commented, “I feel like we’re living in the days when the revelations of the prophets are bringing to pass the prophecies of old and the inspired feelings of faithful Church members. This beautiful temple is part of fulfilling that prophetic destiny.”

This is wonderful time and a busy year for temples throughout the world, and especially in Utah. The Red Cliffs Utah Temple will be dedicated on March 24, the Taylorsville Utah Temple on June 2, and the Layton Utah Temple on June 16, 2024.

We have quite a few beautiful Orem Temple pictures available now. And if you didn’t have a chance to attend the public open house to see inside the temple, be sure to take a look at the pictures of the beautiful interior!
