Fort Worth Texas Temple Pictures
Rising in the Fort Worth suburb of Burleson, the Fort Worth Temple will be the sixth temple built in the Lone Star State, joining the Dallas, Houston, Lubbock, San Antonio, and McAllen Temples. Announced by President Russell M. Nelson on October 3, 2021, it broke ground on October 28, 2023, and as of mid-2026 stands nearly complete, its light-colored stone façade, classical detailing, and gold accents taking their final shape. Mosaic paver plazas on either side of the building feature blossom and quatrefoil patterns, echoing a quatrefoil motif carried through the temple’s exterior windows. About the Fort Worth Texas Temple
Missionary work first began in Texas in 1843, and today the state is home to more than 360,000 Latter-day Saints. President Russell M. Nelson announced the Fort Worth Temple on October 3, 2021, one of 13 temples he named that October general conference, bringing a second house of the Lord to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex alongside the long-serving Dallas Temple. The location was announced the following year, on October 31, 2022: a 9.37-acre site north of Southwest Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson. Plans called for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet, and groundbreaking took place on October 28, 2023.
The temple's design features a light-colored stone exterior with classical architectural detailing and elegant gold accents, along with a distinctive quatrefoil window motif carried through the facade and echoed in the mosaic paver plazas that flank the building on each side. As of mid-2026, construction has reached its final stages, with crews furnishing the interior and completing the surrounding landscaping ahead of the announcement of open house and dedication dates. Once complete, the Fort Worth Temple will serve Latter-day Saints throughout the Fort Worth area, easing what has often been a lengthy drive to Dallas for many local members.
