The Modesto Temple rises on a beautifully landscaped 17-acre site along Dale Road in Modesto — the county seat and largest city of Stanislaus County, situated in the heart of California’s agriculturally rich Central Valley. The 10th temple built in California and a landmark new addition to the San Joaquin Valley, it opens for a public open house October 16–31, 2026 and will be dedicated November 22, 2026 by Elder Quentin L. Cook. Our collection of Modesto Temple pictures, art prints, and paintings captures this beautiful new temple in a range of styles and sizes.

Announced by President Russell M. Nelson on April 3, 2022, at the April 2022 General Conference, and to be dedicated November 22, 2026, the Modesto Temple is the 10th temple built in California. The 30,000-square-foot temple is situated on 17.63 acres adjacent to the existing Modesto California North Stake Center at 4300 Dale Road — a meaningful location that places the temple directly within the fabric of the local Latter-day Saint community. The groundbreaking was held October 7, 2023, presided over by Elder Gary B. Sabin, who prayed that the temple "will stand as a beacon of light and hope and a witness of the reality and divinity of Thy Beloved Son." California is home to more than 755,000 Latter-day Saints in over 1,200 congregations — one of the largest concentrations of Church membership in the world — and the Modesto Temple serves 7 stakes throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
Modesto takes its name from the Spanish word for modest — a fitting spirit for a city that has long been defined by hard work, agricultural heritage, and close-knit communities. The Central Valley surrounding Modesto produces a remarkable abundance of almonds, walnuts, peaches, dairy products, and wine grapes — one of the most productive agricultural regions on earth. The temple's open house runs October 16–31, 2026, with a media day on October 13 and invited guest tours on October 14–15. Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication on November 22, 2026, with the dedicatory session broadcast to all congregations in the temple district.
The Modesto Temple's Central Valley setting — with the Sierra Nevada foothills visible to the east and the broad agricultural landscape of Stanislaus County surrounding the beautifully landscaped grounds — gives photographers a serene and compelling subject in the warm California light. The region's Mediterranean climate brings vivid seasonal changes, from the vivid green of the spring almond and walnut blossoms to the golden summer harvest light and the crisp clarity of a Central Valley autumn morning. Our collection features early photography of this brand-new temple capturing its fresh beauty in the landscape of California's agricultural heartland.
Modesto Temple prints make a meaningful and inspirational gift for members throughout the San Joaquin Valley — and for anyone celebrating this beautiful new addition to California's growing family of temples. Perfect for weddings, mission homecomings, new homes, and other milestone occasions.
